Motherlode Highlands presents Scottish Highland Ponies
Scottish Highland Ponies were used for centuries by crofters for farm work such as pulling cars, plowing fields, moving logs and bringing deer harvest down from the highlands. They were also used in battle.

Today the Highland Pony can be seen in the show ring doing dressage, jumping, driving, and pony trekking (trail riding).

Scottish Highland Ponies are listed as vulnerable on the Endangered Species list. There are currently 150 in North America and approximately 3500 in the world. We have three right here in Nevada County!

Please stop by and visit Lord Latimer of Trinityglen affectionately know as Hardy and his Shetland side kick Elsa at Celtic Festival! We have a pack saddle and a Combination Deer Saddle from Balmoral Castle for you to see.
