Kyle Alden Trio

The Kyle Alden Trio is a collaboration between three talented Bay Area musicians—Singer/Songwriter Kyle Alden (guitar and vocals), Leslie Jackson (vocals, percussion, mandolin), and Darcy Noonan (fiddle).

The trio’s music showcases driving, lyrical traditional Irish tunes, plus folk music settings of great Irish poetry. Their engaging live show features rich musical interplay, vocal harmony and fine fiddle playing and guitar picking.

Artist Biographies

Singer/songwriter and folk musician Kyle Alden has appeared on stages throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, New York and Ireland. He is recognized for his award-winning folk songs based on the poems of Irish poet W.B. Yeats. He supported Irish music legend Paul Brady on his last West coast tour, playing the Napa Opera House and Berkeley’s Freight and Salvage. Kyle is also a member of trad Irish band The Gas Men, where he sings and plays guitar and fiddle.

Recognized for his Irish traditional guitar accompaniment, Kyle has played on stage with top fiddlers Maeve Donnelly, Tommy Peoples, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Liz Carroll, and piper Paddy Keenan, among others.

Recordings include Songs From Yeats’ Bee-Loud Glade (2011), Down In The West, Volume 1 (2013) , Down In the West, Volume 2 (2017), Fables (2020), Triple Fox (2022) and Golden Hour (2024).

Leslie Jackson (percussion, mandolin and vocals) is a lifetime traditional ethnic musician and dancer with over 25 years of Irish fiddle and mandolin and over ten years of North African Classical music (Andalus). Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Leslie was a member of the Deely School of Irish Dancing and The Prince Charles Pipe Band, performing and competing across North America. When not playing music, Leslie is riding a bicycle.

Darcy Noonan (fiddle). As a young adult, Darcy fell in love with the community and folklore of Irish music. This inspired her to move to Ireland and steep herself in the tradition. She honed her talent as a fiddler in Galway city, performing and studying with great fiddlers such as Mick Conneely and Frankie Gavin. Darcy has been on faculty at a variety of camps and workshops, sharing her knowledge and love of Irish music. She now resides in the Bay Area and is a Suzuki Violin teacher by day and plays in local bands by night.
