For the first time, the dance troupe Jewels of the Yuba are presenting their work, “Out of the Forest” a tribute and expression of the Wild Woman archetype in Celtic mythology. The dance is inspired by four pieces of music culled from around the world.
“We are honored and thrilled to take part in the KVMR Celtic Festival this year”, Colleen Carson, the JOY (Jewels of the Yuba) Director & Choreographer. “We are a community of artistic and fun loving women of all ages connected by a love of the dance arts and a desire to share that joy with others. The dance, Out of the Forest, is both strong and playful.
The company will dance both the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.
JOY is a Nevada County based dance company who have been performing together for almost 10 years delighting audiences with traditional Middle Eastern Dance and Fusion/Theatrical performances.
