The Galen Fraser Trio was founded in 2016 after the release of Fraser’s debut album, Mischief Managed, which has gained renown for it’s fusion of modern and old traditional styles.
Galen is joined by New England-based musicians Conor Hearn (guitar) and Neil Pearlman (accordion) who, having played together since childhood, share a rich musical connection that makes way for moments of deep intimacy and boundless energy. Together they suspend time and leave the listener energized and inspired.
Galen Fraser is an accomplished fiddler and composer from Northern California with a love for soul food and spontaneity. His love for singing and writing lead him to pursue music as a career, earning his Bachelors Degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music.
Now based in Boston and Spain he plays with the Spanish-based Atlantic Folk Trio, the high energy Americana band Neversink and the groovy afro-celtic funk band Soulsha.
Galen holds residencies at The Landsdowne and Menotomy in Boston and teaches yearly at Alasdair Fraser’s Sierra Fiddle Camp in North San Juan, California.
Galen’s debut solo album Mischief Managed is comprised of all original music rooted in the Scottish and American fiddle traditions. It features anthemic marches and grooves along with stampeding reels and that will get your feet tapping and your heart pounding.
Fraser is joined by esteemed musicians such as Natalie Haas, Alasdair Fraser, Conor Hearn and Neil Pearlman (and many others) who bring his arrangements to life in an exciting multi collaboration.
